Raku Ceramic Beads

Raku ceramic is created by using an ancient Japanese firing technique which creates a unique, almost  iridescent finish, by using a special clay, oxides and glazes. The ceramic is fired at high temperatures, taken out of the kiln while it is still red hot, then placed into a flammable material (sawdust, paper or even horse hair). It is then left to cool. No two beads will be exactly the same and some crazing twill be present.
