Red Jasper is the opaque red variety of Quartz (Chalcedony). It's found worldwide.
Brecciated Jasper is opaque angular fragments of Jasper naturally bonded together. It is often formed during tectonic activity when the movements repeatedly crack and the Jasper 'heals' over a long periods of time. The Jasper is then filled with more Jasper (Quartz and Chalcedony).
