Manganoan Calcite, also known as Manganocalcite and Mangano Calcite is a variety of calcite rich in Manganese. The Manganese gives this mineral its pink color. The chemical formula for Manganoan Calcite is Ca,Mn)CO3.
Manganoan calcite is often confused with Rhodochrosite. Manganoan Calcite is UV reactive; Rhodochrosite is not.
