Kyanite, also known as Rhaeticite, is a silicate mineral, usually found in metamorphic rocks. It often forms from the high-pressure diversification of clay minerals during the metamorphism of sedimentary rocks. Black Kyanite owes it's coloring to the small amount of Graphite it contains.
