Fuchsite is a variety of green Muscovite and has a high chromium content, giving it it's green coloration. It can be found with Corundum, Hematite, Kyanite, Pyrite, Ruby, Quartz, and even Gold.

It is one of the most commonly misspelled minerals in the lapidary market. It is often misspelled (and mispronounced) as Fuschite, with a long 'u' and a long 'i'. In 1842 the material was named by Karl F. Emil von Schafhäutl in honor of Johann Nepomuk von Fuchs, a German chemist and mineralogist. His name is pronounced “fooks” - similar to the way you pronounce 'books' and 'looks'.
