Chalcedony is a translucent microcrystalline type of quartz, the form of Quartz that is compact and formed of microscopic crystals. It occurs in many different forms, including botryoidal, stalactites & stalagmites.
 
Botryoidal: having a shape reminiscent of a cluster of grapes.
