Bead crochet is a crochet technique that incorporates beads into a crochet fabric. The word "crochet" is derived from the French "croche" or "croc" meaning "to hook". At one time, bead crochet was thought by some people to be appropriate only for rich people.
Bead crochet is created by first stringing beads onto a very long, uncut thread. Most crocheters use a beading needle or coat the end of the thread with clear nail polish to create an anchor point for beading. The crocheter then slides one bead down then crochets. Preplanning the pattern and sequence is required to acheive a pattern.
To wear a bead crochet bracelet one simply places it over the fingers then gently rolls the bracelet up and over the hand, onto the wrist.
