Picasso Stone is a Dolomite Marble in beige, black, brown, grey, pink, and white colors. The name "Picasso" derived from looking like an abstract painting. It is also known as "Picasso Jasper", however, this material is not a "jasper".
Dolomite, also known as Dolostone and Dolomite Rock, is a common rock-forming mineral. It is a sedimentary rock composed mostly of the mineral dolomite, calcium magnesium carbonate with a chemical composition of CaMg(CO3)2.
Dolomite is found in sedimentary basins around the world. It is possibly formed by the post-physical, chemical and biological processes alteration of lime mud and limestone by magnesium-rich groundwater. Limestone that contains some dolomite is known as dolomitic limestone.
