Amazonite is a member of the Feldspar group. It was named by Johann Friedrich August Breithaupt in 1847 for being found near the Amazon River. It has a green to greenish gray color and is often found with Smoky Quartz inclusions or as inclusions along with Albite, Tourmaline and other minerals.
