Epidosite & Epidote

Epidosite is a metasomatic rock made up of Epidote and Quartz, with minor Chlorite and Amphibole. It is similar to Unakite but with much less pink Feldspar.

Epidote is a basic calcium aluminum iron silicate mineral that is found in metamorphosed rocks of low-to-moderate grade. It is often associated with Amphiboles, Feldspars, Quartz, and Chlorite. It occurs as replacements of mineral grains that have been altered by metamorphism. Epidote is also found in Unakite.
