I have always enjoyed crafts of all kinds and after accepting an early retirement incentive, I decided my second career would be one that I enjoyed. I began many years ago making my own jewelry, then when I had more time for my own interests, I began taking various jewelry-making classes. I traveled to Tucson, AZ, and Albuquerque, NM, exploring different techniques and finally found my enjoyment of working with metal clay. I attended training in Atlanta, GA, to certify as an Art Clay™ Level One Instructor and to Tucson, AZ for Senior Level Certification.
In my previous career, I often taught computer technology classes. With my new venture, I have been able to combine my love of teaching with designing jewelry using metal clay techniques. I am a member of the Art Clay Society, a group of metal clay artists and enthusiasts, dedicated to continuing education and inspiration. The versatile, organic nature of metal clay allows for a freedom of design.
